Dirty bathroom tiles? These tips really work!

2. Baking soda
Did the first tip not yield the desired result? Wait a moment before you run to your kitchen cupboard for the big guns, and go and get the baking soda instead. Baking soda has the same effect as strong cleaning products, but it doesn’t expose you and others to (hazardous) fumes. What should you do? Mix two tablespoons of baking soda, otherwise known as bicarbonate, with water until you get a thick paste. Rub it on the seams between the tiles in the bathroom, get your hard brush and scrub away!

As soon as all the seams are covered in the paste, you should leave it on for a while and in the meantime prepare a mixture of natural vinegar and water. Rub the mixture on the tiles, leave the baking soda paste and the vinegar mixture on for about half an hour and rinse it with lukewarm or warm water. Are you not satisfied? Repeat the process. You can also replace water with hydrogen peroxide, for an even better result.

3. Lemon
Another tip you can use to clean both the bathroom tiles and seams, is to make your own cleaning agent with lemon, detergent and borax. How do you make this natural cleaning agent? Mix 75 mg borax with half a teaspoon of lemon oil and add detergent until it becomes a paste. You can use an old toothbrush to rub the paste on the seams, but it’s also a good cleaning product for the tiles. So a larger brush or sponge will also work. Leave the paste on for a while and rinse the tiles with warm water. For an even better result: make sure to use circling movements to rub the paste on the bathroom tiles and seams. On the next page you can read more about how to use chlorine and candle wax to make the tiles in your bathroom shine again!
